Government to Dead People: Give Us Back Your Stimulus Check

Attention all dead people: Please return any and all stimulus checks you’ve received from the U.S. Treasury IMMEDIATELY. Voting in this November’s election is one thing, but stealing money from the U.S. government that was originally stolen from YOU by the government is where the line gets drawn!
In order to facilitate the return of your money with ease, the IRS has generously provided a step-by-step breakdown that deceased individuals are instructed to follow.
Please Note: The return instructions differ based on whether the payment was made by paper check or direct deposit.
Helpful and Overly-Complex Instructions for Paper Checks:

1. Write “VOID” on actual check.
2. Enclose a brief letter explaining why the check is being returned – even though that letter has no bearing whatsoever on where the check goes, nor the total amount of funds returned to the U.S. government.
3. Say three Hail Marys (Okay, we made that up).

Helpful and Overly-Complex Instructions for Direct Deposit:

1. Submit a money order or personal check to a specified IRS location, which you are expected to research and locate on your own. Do your part! After all, it’s your money that you’re not keeping, so we don’t think it’s asking a lot for you, the taxpayer, to do all the heavy lifting.
2. Checks should be made payable to “U.S. Treasury.”
3. You are to write the following on your check or money order:
   1. 2020 EIP
   2. Taxpayer identification number (social security number, or individual taxpayer identification number) of the recipient of the check.
4. A letter explaining why the money is being returned MUST be included.

As a generous public service, the Chicks on the Right have provided a sample letter that can be utilized to assist in the return of your stimulus check that was paid for with your tax dollars that the government took from you, gave back to you, and is now stealing from you again:

Dear Federal Government:
How are you? I am fine.
Enclosed, please find a $1,200 stimulus check that I am returning due to the fact that I am currently dead.
Thanks much, and stay safe out there!
