Car Crash Kills 1, Injures 5 Others in Madison County

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said the two-vehicle accident happened Thursday afternoon near the Madison County/Grant County line.

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — One person is dead and multiple others are injured from a multi-vehicle crash that happened near the Madison County/Grant County line.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said the two-car accident occurred Thursday afternoon at around 2:30 at the intersection of 1900 North and 200 West, about two miles west of Madison-Grant Jr./Sr. High School and State Road 9.

Multiple helicopters were called to the scene.

At least five people were injured. Three of those people had to be airlifted from the scene.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash and working to identify those involved.
