HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — The president of the Hamilton Southeastern School Board is stepping down.
School board president Mike Bottorff submitted his resignaton on Thursday.
In a letter to fellow school board members, Bottorff wrote:
“It has been a privilege to serve my community as a member of this Board, but, after months of thought and reflection, I find I cannot continue that service and also keep important commitments to my family. I have to set priorities and, in that regard, my obligations to family must come first.”
His resignation was effective immediately.
Bottorff was elected as an at-large board member in 2016, according to the Hamilton Reporter. His seat is up for election in 2020.
The HSE Board is searching for Bottorff’s replacement.
