IMPD: Double Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Attempted Burglary
Police say a would-be burglar stabbed two people during an attempted burglary on the east side of Indianapolis early Friday morning.
INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police say a would-be burglar stabbed two people during an attempted burglary on the city’s east side early Friday morning.
According to IMPD, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of East Michigan Street just after midnight. They found a man and a woman each with multiple stab wounds. The victims were taken to an area hospital.
Police believe the stabbing happened during an attempter burglary. The suspect stole items and then fled to an abandoned apartment. The suspect tried to escape the apartment by breaking a window and climbing out, but he injured himself and was then taken into custody by officers.
It’s unclear exactly what type of weapon was used by the suspect to stab the two individuals and the extent of their injuries.
An investigation is now underway.
