INDIANAPOLIS –Severe weather is moving in tonight. Temperatures across the state are starting in the mid to upper 50s, with winds picking up from the southeast at 15-20 mph and mostly sunny skies this morning.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for several counties from 5 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday. A powerful storm is moving through the Midwest, bringing wind gusts up to 55 mph and possibly higher in some areas. Strong winds will be the main threat with the upcoming thunderstorms.

Storms are expected to arrive late Friday into early Saturday morning, bringing the risk of damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and large hail. The storms should arrive shortly after 2 a.m. and could last a few hours.

The threat of gusty storms will continue into Saturday. Highs will reach the low 70s, with wind gusts up to 40 mph.
