LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office has identified the man shot and killed Monday by Lafayette police as 39-year-old Dustin Furr, of Lafayette.
Lafayette died of gunshot wounds, according to the coroner.
Police were called Monday afternoon to investigate a report of a man with a gun. Officers arrived, found Furr, and tried to negotiate with him. When he failed to comply, he was shot, police said.
The officer who shot Furr is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
