PORTER COUNTY, Ind. — Officers say a person was arrested after she crashed her car on I-94 Saturday.
They say Monserrath Lopez was trying to head back home, but she was going the wrong way. She was going fast and hit an entrance gate, street signs, and poles. Officers then say Lopez’s luck ran out when she crashed into the scale house guard rail, near the Chesterton exit.
As officers were looking into this, they say Lopez was under the influence. Lopez was taken to Porter County Jail and is facing charges of driving while under the influence. Officers say that it will cost thousands of dollars to cover for the damage of the street signs, poles, and scale house.
