Lt. Gov.-Elect Micah Beckwith Reinvited To Westfield School Event

Westfield Washington School District, particularly superintendent Paul Kaiser, has come under fire over rescinding an invitation to incoming Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith.

Beckwith had been invited to attend Westfield High School to visit with agriculture students. However, the invitation was rescinded, after what Beckwith described as a small number of parents, called to complain about his appearance.

Yesterday, Beckwith made an appearance on the Kendall and Casey Show to discuss the school district’s decision to bounce him for political purposes. His appearance on the show brought awareness to the situation and as a result, Micah met with Kaiser and a schoolboard member to discuss the matter just hours after he appeared the show.

According to Beckwith, the superintendent and the schoolboard member were not quick to apologize but they were willing to have a conversation. However, when he asked if they would re-invite him, they refused.

Shortly after Beckwith left the meeting, he received a call saying that they changed their mind and would invite him back.
