Police: Woman Facing Charges in Evansville Blames Kanye West

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A Louisville woman was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail last week, after police say she tried to steal a car with a child inside it…on the orders of Kanye West.

Police say 28-year-old Ricki Smith is now facing charges for attempted kidnapping and attempted auto theft.

Witnesses claimed that she had been trying to get into various cars outside of a business, until she finally got into the one with the child. But, she was soon pulled from the car.

When asked why she had been trying to steal it, she explained that rapper Kanye West – now known as Ye – had “telegraphically” told her to do it. Yes, “telegraphically” was her word of choice.

The woman had apparently hitchhiked part of the way to Indiana, after crashing her car and abandoning it near Highway 64.
