Hundreds of Palestinians Possibly Killed, Injured in Israeli Airstrike

GAZA — An Israeli airstrike on a Gaza school compound housing displaced families has reportedly killed or hurt around 100 people.
The Israeli military said it targeted Hamas militants there, and it called into question the death toll released by the Hamas-run government.

Video and images from the site showed body parts scattered on the ground and bodies being carried away and covered in blankets on the floor.
The Hamas-run media office said in a statement that the strikes hit when people sheltering at the school were performing dawn prayers, leading to many casualties.
Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal said around 6,000 people had been sheltering in the compound.
