Biden Move Proves He’s Not Concerned With Gas Prices
President Joe Biden clearly isn’t the least bit concerned that families are suffering under the highest rate of inflation in 40 years, and he certainly isn’t serious about lowering gas prices.
On Wednesday, the Biden administration canceled a 1-million-plus acre oil lease in Alaska along with two lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. This at a time when gas prices are at an all-time high, according to AAA.
“It’s Putin’s price hike! It’s greedy oil companies.”
Nonsense. Biden set the stage to create pain at the pump almost immediately upon being sworn in to office.
Within his first week as President, Biden signed an executive order that temporarily halted all new oil and gas leases on federal lands. The administration was forced to resume new leasing last month following court challenges against the ban, but the administration is appealing a ruling in which Judge James Cain struck down the ban.
And while Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting ban on Russian oil has been a contributing factor to higher prices, Biden’s weakness as a leader and disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan arguably served to fuel Russian aggression.
