BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Another charge has been filed in the case of the Lake Monroe incident from last year.

You may remember the name Vauhxx Booker – the Black man seen on a viral video surrounded by white men at Lake Monroe during the 4th of July weekend.

Booker maintains that the incident is a hate crime, and that Sean Purdy and Jerry Edward Cox discussed lynching him. Both men deny that claim, and have said Booker was trespassing.

Special Prosecutor Sonia Leerkamp has filed two charges against Booker – battery and criminal trespassing. Purdy and Cox were also charged with battery, and are due back in court on August 20th, but no trial date has been announced.
