WASHINGTON–New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says the Trump administration has “learned nothing in six months” when it comes to responding to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We have confusion. We have chaos. We don’t have operations set up. It has to start with the President. I think he has to stand up and say what he didn’t say six months ago. He has to say to the American people that COVID-19 is serious. The White House, Dr. Birx, they’re sending the exact wrong message. They’ve learned nothing in six months,” said Cuomo.

In an interview on Fox News with Laura Ingraham, former Indiana Governor and Vice President Mike Pence pointed out that one in five of all the American lives lost in the pandemic so far were lost in the state of New York.

Some of that was because of poor decisions by the state and by Governor Cuomo. I liked it better when he said that President Trump’s leadership in the pandemic was in his words ‘phenomenal.’ He’s been on-again, off-again. He’s complimented the administration’s response and then he pivots to criticism. I think people see through that,” said Pence.

Pence says the Trump administration is making great progress in responding to the coronavirus.

“We’ve taken to testing from a standing start to nearly 60 million coronavirus tests performed. PPE (personal protective equipment) is in great abundance, even across the areas of the country where we’ve seen rising cases,” said Pence.

Then he pivoted to the economy.

“Also, don’t forget the story of the way this economy is already recovering on the foundation President Trump poured in the first three years. We’ve already put seven million Americans back to work,” said Pence.

At the end of the interview, Pence emphasized the importance of voting with an absentee ballot instead of mail-in voting in the November election. He says the Trump administration will do whatever it has to do to make sure the results are not fraudulent.

“This universal mail-in voting where you’re going to see literally ballots showered all across the state is ripe for fraud. We are headed straight to the courts to put a stop to it,” said Pence.

Pence urges you to vote absentee if you are concerned about getting the coronavirus while standing in line to vote in person.
