INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting on the city’s northwest side Thursday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Woodglen Drive for a burglary-in-progress call.
After arriving on the scene, police said shots were being fired at officers by male with a rifle at police.
The man has been identified as 19-year-old McHale Rose.
Officers then returned fire, striking Rose. Rose was pronounced dead on the scene.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Officers said the shooting happened inside an apartment complex but outside an apartment.
This is the second officer-involved shooting in Indianapolis in less than eight hours.
