INDIANAPOLIS — Metro police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting on the city’s west side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a person shot in the 3200 block of Merrick Lane. That’s in The Woods at Oak Crossing apartments, just southwest of the I-65 overpass for West Kessler Boulevard North Drive.

Officers arrived to find the man lying in the grass in the apartments’ common area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
