STATEHOUSE–Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed three executive orders aimed at enhancing transparency and reshaping Indiana’s economic development strategy on Tuesday.

The orders require state-affiliated non-profits to be more transparent, prioritize wage growth and job creation in economic development initiatives, and reassess the state’s economic development regions. Governor Braun emphasized the need for transparency in the operations and funding of non-profits like the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.

The orders mandate financial disclosures from state-affiliated non-profits, set wage growth and job creation as primary metrics for evaluating economic development initiatives, and empower the Commerce Secretary to recommend new regional economic development maps based on unique strengths and industries.
