Is Joe Hogsett Running For A Fourth Term?
The rumors have been out there that Mayor Joe Hogsett is planning on running for a fourth term. Apparently, failure is popular in Indianapolis. You can’t really fault Joe for running again. Crime is rampant, potholes are everywhere, sexual harassment allegations basically go unchecked, and the mayor is not to be found during a riot, YET, the Republicans don’t even try to compete in Indiana’s capital city.

I bring you. A piece from the IndyStar and I know, I know, I know what you’re, you’re, you’re saying. I, I hear you. OMG, are you kidding me right now? I’m not. I actually thought it was. An important conversation. A piece from really last month. That I did not come across my desk until yesterday, from James Briggs, their opinion writer:

Now, I’ve put forth to you that James Briggs does very little opinion writing and he does much more political writing. He may not agree with this. I would advise him to go back and read everything. Interesting idea here, Hogsett as a four-term mayor of Indianapolis. And Briggs notes that Hogsett said he wouldn’t run for a third term. And then he did. And we noted last week that he’s holding fundraisers. Why is he holding fundraisers? Who is attending a Joe Hogsett fundraiser? You mean after all of this you can’t plow streets, you can’t fix roads, You still have a massive crime issue?
And you hire back your former chief of staff, your former deputy mayor with there are compelling allegations of sexual impropriety against him. You claim to have done an investigation the first time it happened. You won’t release it. And then you hire him back to help you win a third term and you won’t answer for it. Meanwhile, there’s video of you at events in Indianapolis where you look impaired.

And then there’s the question of where you were you for two nights of rioting where the city was set on fire, and you did nothing about it. You were running the operation from your home? We’ve begged for proof, and we get nothing. This is a guy who’s gonna win a fourth term in Indianapolis? As I have long discussed, there’s something really wrong with the Indy voter if they’ll accept this. And there’s something really wrong with the leadership. I’m talking about the civic leadership. I’m talking about the people who build this city. I’m talking about the people their names high on the buildings.
