EVANSVILLE, Ind.–A man who admitted he was having a fight with his girlfriend on the phone and who was drunk while driving a truck, hit a house in Evansville early Saturday morning.

The wreck happened about 3 a.m., said Evansville Police. A house on East Olmstead was hit right on the corner. Police said when they got there they could see through the wall and into the basement.

Yonatan Perez Vasquez, who is 18, was the driver of the truck. He’s too young to be legally drinking. But, police say they found bottles on the floor of the truck and he blew at .194, which is twice the legal limit of.08 blood alcohol level.

The woman who lives at the house told 14 News she was woken up by the crash, that everything in the room that was hit is ruined and that Vasquez came to the window to say he was sorry.

Sorry or not, he was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of driving drunk, underage drinking and criminal mischief.
