Man Convicted of Killing Roommate in 2023

INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been convicted of murder after police say he shot and killed his roommate in 2023.

According to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Jackson Porter is guilty of murdering Alexander Bohman on May 18th of that year.

Police found Bohman at an apartment on Diplomat Court in Beech Grove. Porter later told officers that he had shot Bohman “multiple times,” with a gun that he had purchased earlier that day.

Prosecutor Ryan Mears says, “A young person was able to purchase a firearm and ammunition and commit a jarringly brutal murder on the very same day – that should be alarming to all of us.”
