Hoosiers Dominate Marian

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball team knocked off the Marian Knights in an exhibition game Friday night 106-64.

The Hoosiers had 15 players get in the game and 10 of them scored. They were led in scoring by freshman Bryson Tucker with 19 points and he played almost 23 minutes. Malik Reneau had 18 points and eight rebounds. Oumar Ballo scored 16 points. Mackenzie Mgbako and Langdon Hatton both had 10 points.

The Hoosiers outscored the Knights in the paint 70-24 while dishing out 33 assists.

The Knights were led by Gus Etchison who had 19 points.

Pat Knight is the Head Coach at Marian now. He is the son of the late Bob Knight. Bob died November 1, 2023. Exactly one year later, Pat returned to Assembly Hall and got a standing ovation.

Before tipoff, Pat kissed the Indiana logo at midcourt. The ovation continued as well for Pat Knight’s wife, Amanda, and mother, Nancy.

Indiana begins the regular season at home November 6 against SIU Edwardsville. Tipoff is at 8 pm. Pregame coverage begins at 7 pm on 93.1 WIBC.
