Tony Katz:

So, the City-County Council Democrats, after seeing now 2 reports of sexual impropriety from Joe Hogsett’s former chief of staff, former Deputy Mayor Thomas Carl Cook, two reports saying that multiple allegations out there that Joe Hogsett knew about them and kept Thomas Carl Cook in his employment, kept him there. And what are the Democrats now doing? They’re committing to city human resources reforms.

Vop Osili, the president of the Council, Ali Brown, the vice president of the council, laying out quote initial plans to strengthen employee protections. This is the actual plan. Nothing about Joe Hogsett knowing about the allegations and doing nothing. “Well, we’re just gonna put together a plan so these kinds of allegations get the attention that they need.” What about the guy who harbored the guy?

Why is this not on your radar? What the hell is what is wrong with them? Why are they not interested in the guy who harbored the guy and saying why did you do this?

Look at the protection racket from Vop Osili and Ali Brown. Stop telling me Ali Brown cares about women. You’re welcome. By the way, Councilor Brown, on the show anytime we will discuss that you are not interested about in women or caring about women.

This is a ruse. If the answer is well, we need a better system. That’s not an answer. 17 members of the 19-member Democratic caucus signed on to the statement. That says they’re going to create a separate branch of human resources from the administration that “addresses sexual harassment and other discrimination related complaints. Create a Commission that engages subject matter experts to evaluate the city’s current policies, identify gaps, and implement best practices that will foster a culture of safety, respect and accountability. Modify the Revised Code section to include all city county employees and an annual mandatory sexual harassment training.” What in the world is this? What possibly is this? This is the Democratic Party. Engage in full on protection of Joe Hogsett. I don’t want to hear from Ali Brown, although I welcome her to call in. I mean, she wants to actually discuss that she doesn’t care about women. She’s more than welcome to. I don’t want to hear from Vop Osili, who doesn’t care about women. He’s more than welcome to call in as well. More than welcome. You wanna sit and do an interview? Just tell me when I’m bringing the cameras, I’m bringing the recording equipment.

We’ll sit and do it. No pencil and paper for me. I actually record. I don’t wanna hear from the Democratic Party. I wanna hear from Mike Schmuhl or any of these people who claim we’re all about women and we’re gonna protect women. The hell they are. Their answer is bureaucracy. Joe Hogsett kept a serial sexual harasser or abuser or impropriety or however you want to describe this creepy Thomas Carl Cook, which is how he’s described in the reporting and my personal dealings with him. Joe Hogsett kept this guy in his employment. Why? Why are you protecting Joe Hogsett? Why are they doing it? My God, ladies. You understand that these people don’t care about you at all. Just shut up and do what you’re told. That’s what they’re saying. A new bit of bureaucracy, new layers of government. Good Lord. Ohh. And to the feminists of Indianapolis, I don’t hear you, and that’s purposeful. Nothing to say about Joe Hogsett.

You lead these great organizations. You belong to these great groups. You’re all about women empowerment. You don’t have a word for Joe Hogsett. Please don’t be surprised when we don’t pay attention to you in the future. And to the news organizations, I mean the Indy Star and James Briggs and Hayleigh Colombo did their work. And Mirror Indy did their work. And on Thursday, Russ McQuaid of Fox 59 did have a microphone and Joe Hogsett’s face.

What about the rest of you? We’re gonna move on now. Instead, I’m treated to opinion pieces about Project 2025 like anybody cares. Just moving on. OK. Please stop telling the rest of us that you care about women, that you’re somehow a feminist, that you’re somehow strong, somehow that news matters. Because what you’re saying is it doesn’t. Cause we don’t even report it. We won’t ask a tough question. And to the feminists, we get it. You’re a feminist when it’s convenient. We got it now. Now we see you. You’re like Ali Brown. Ohh. We’re screaming about women’s rights and then when women get abused, we don’t think to go after the abuser or the guy who harbored the abuser. No, just another level of bureaucracy that’ll do the trick. Ali Brown would like to disagree. 5 microphones, no waiting.
