Body of Missing Columbus Man Found on Grandview Lake

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Firefighters have found the body of a 70-year-old man who went missing on Grandview Lake Wednesday.
The man has been identified as Richard Chaille.
The Indiana DNR and other organizations learned that he went missing shortly after 11 a.m. Police believe he had been floating with his feet still on a boat when he went underwater and did not resurface.
It is not yet clear why he went underwater. He was most likely not wearing a lifejacket at the time of his death.
Efforts to find him Wednesday were interrupted by storms and lightning, but his body was seen and pulled from the lake around 5 a.m. Thursday.
An autopsy will determine exactly how he died.
