Everyone’s favorite segment (except Nigel’s) has returned!
With more anticipated snow coming to central Indiana, Hammer thought this would be a good opportunity to bring back “Fun Facts for Kids” – winter edition.
Here are some “fun” facts that will not only shock you, but you’ll learn something!
*Note: these facts are not actually fun and/or for kids, Hammer is a lunatic.
1. The most dangerous weather on earth is a blizzard!

Did you know you have a better chance surviving in the desert than in a blizzard?
Being stuck in the wrong blizzard could off you in as little as 10 minutes.
In the most extreme case, such as being in a -58 °F blizzard with 50 mph winds while wearing nothing but a t-shirt and jeans, you would be lucky if you lasted for more than 5 minutes before passing out and freezing, making it the fastest way to die from weather.
2. More people DIE in the winter than in the summer!

Remember kids, if you have a grandparent who is feeling just a little sick, you better call them now, because the time and the math are NOT on your side.
3. Snowflakes CAN be identical!

Scientist Nancy Knight flew through a snowstorm in 1988 and collected snowflakes on a chilled glass microscope slides. She discovered that two snowflakes were, for all intents and purposes, identical.
SO, kids, if your teacher ever says “no two snowflakes are alike,” it’s ok to stand up in the middle of class and call that teacher a dumbass.
