INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A bus from Washington Township Schools crashed into a church near Massachusetts Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
The bus, carrying students and adults from Greenbriar Elementary School, crashed into Roberts Park United Methodist Church at Delaware and Vermont Streets just before 1 p.m.
The bus collided with a tow truck at the intersection and continued on into the building, reports WISH-TV.
Indy Metro Police told News 8’s Tim McNicholas that both drivers said the other one ran a red light.
There were 35 students and two adults on the bus at the time of the crash. Both adults and four children were taken to the hospital for treatment, as was the tow truck driver, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.
The crash is still under investigation.
