Greta Thunberg has told the world that she has been “kidnapped” by Israel.

The 22 year-old Swedish activist first made headlines when she was 16 years-old, giving the infamous “how dare you” speech to Congress and the United Nations. Thunberg has since then become an outspoken activist for causes including climate change and pro-Palestine support.

Thunberg, along with a dozen activists, boarded a charity ship operate by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition on June 1st in Italy. Before sailing off, the crew said they were sailing to the Gaza strip to provide humanitarian aid. The group attempted to break a naval blockade en route to the Gaza strip, when Israeli military intercepted the civilian vessel. The FFC released a video by Greta stating the crew had been “kidnapped.”

“If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel,”

The Israel Foreign Ministry has stated that the passengers were all “safe and unharmed” and even provided sandwiches and water. They said that the ‘selfie yacht’ and “show is over.”

President Trump was asked about Greta’s cry for help during a presser and did not seem too concerned. “I find it—I think Israel has enough problems without kidnapping Greta Thunberg.”

The activists are expected to be sent back to their home countries within the next few days.
