LISTEN: Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith Talks Property Tax Bill
Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith joined the Hammer and Nigel Show to talk about the concerns Hoosiers have over the latest property tax bill reform.
The Lt. Gov. says he understands that many voters are upset with the changes made to Gov. Brauns property tax bill. He wants Hoosiers to know that this relief plan is just the first step in achieving their ultimate goal.
“I wouldn’t say we’re behind it. I would say we are thinking strategically on how we can work with the legislature over the next four years… which the governor believes this is a good first step for year one. Year two, we’re coming right back at it.”
Beckwith said that there is still two weeks before Gov. Braun signs or veto’s the bill and implies changes could still be made.
“We still have two and a half weeks. I’m going to tell you right now, that’s a lifetime in this process. So, I understand the frustration. But, don’t burn the ship to the ground… until the last day because anything could happen until the fat lady sings.”
