The Indiana Democrats Don’t Care If Women Get Harassed
State Senator Greg Taylor of Indianapolis will remain the Democratic caucus leader despite three women accusing him of sexual harassment:
Greg Taylor:
While it was never my intent to cause harm, I acknowledge that I have fallen short, and for this, I apologize.” Taylor said in a statement.
“When I became a leader, I made gender equity a priority in my hiring decisions. I placed women in key positions of authority, including executive director of campaigns and caucus chief of staff. Our Senate Democratic caucus has always been and will remain committed to creating a welcoming environment and ensuring everyone, from interns to elected officials, feels safe and free from harassment.
Tony Katz:
Senator Taylor. This is a nonsense statement. A nonsense statement. So, you admit you sexually harassed three women, and you got reelected. You sexually harassed three women, and you got reelected by a Democratic Party that seems to be fine with this. They were fine with the actions of Joe Hogsett allowing sexual harassment to take place by Thomas Carl Cook, his then Deputy mayor and chief of staff, a guy he brought back after knowing about the allegations to help him win reelection. That’s what’s happening in Indianapolis on a local level and on a state level.
