The Department of Justice says 52-year-old James Bond enticed and coerced the minor to produce sexually explicit material and send it to him earlier this summer. At the time, the minor was employed by the City of Gary as part of the Summer Youth Employment Program.
State Police began investigating Bond at the request of Gary Police Chief Derrick Cannon in July of 2024.
The investigation was then turned over to the Department of Justice for consideration of charges.
The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.
