RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. — A man from Ripley County has been connected to a Kentucky rape case from nearly twenty years ago.

Indiana State Police began investigating Joel Stoltzfus, 42, in February of this year. It was during that investigation in which State Police detectives learned Stoltzfus was accused of rape and incest in Kentucky.

Police are light on the details, but they did disclose Monday that Stoltzfus is accused of raping a child from 2005 to 2008 in Christian County, Kentucky, which puts Stoltzfus in his mid-20s at the time.

An arrest warrant was issued and Stoltzfus was taken into custody last Thursday without any trouble.

He’s currently sitting in the Ripley County Jail awaiting extradition to Christian County, Kentucky.
