PARIS—The USA women’s basketball game overcame a double digit deficit to beat France and win the gold medal on Sunday 67-66.

With the victory, it’s the USA women’s eighth straight gold medal. That’s the most consecutive Olympic titles for any nation in basketball, men’s or women’s.

After trailing 35-25 in the third quarter, Team USA outscored them 20-8 to end the quarter. Kahleah Cooper made two free throws to ice the victory. A two point shot by France at the end wasn’t enough.

A’ja Wilson led Team USA with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Gabby Williams was France’s leading scorer with 19 points.
