INDIANAPOLIS–A letter carrier with the United States Postal Service was held up Friday evening in Indianapolis and now postal inspectors are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who did it.

According to a news release from the Postal Service, a man wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants had a gun when he held up a letter carrier on South Reisner St., just east of Harding and south of I-70, Friday, April 1, at 7:17 p.m. He’d described as a Black male, 5 ft. 8, about 150 lbs, late teens to early 20s.

The Postal Service did not discuss what was taken, if anything. But, a reward poster put out Monday described the incident as an armed robbery.

If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455 (say “Law Enforcement”) and Reference Case No. 3702314.
