INDIANAPOLIS — An extreme heat warning is now in effect across Indiana.

Dangerous heat is expected across central Indiana through Friday, according to forecasters.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has developed a tool called “Heat Risk” with five categories. Category 4, “Extreme” is forecasted through Friday. Afternoon high temperatures are in the 90s, and heat indices are at 105 to 110 degrees at most.

Meteorologists urge you to take frequent breaks and drinks plenty of water.
