Marion Police Officer Involved in Shooting with Passenger of SUV
Indiana State Police said they are investigating an officer-involved shooting from Sunday morning in Marion.
MARION, Ind. — Indiana State Police said an officer in Marion was involved in a shooting with a person in an SUV Sunday.
According to an ISP news release, officers responded to a “shots fired” call near the intersection of West Fourth Street and State Road 18/South Western Avenue eastbound just after 10:15 a.m.
The Marion officer said they saw a passenger in a white SUV that matched the description provided fire shots at a pedestrian. The unnamed officer then fired at the passenger, who fled on foot and is still at large as of Sunday night.
No injuries were reported, however several homes were hit by gunfire.
Once an investigation by state police is complete, a report will be sent to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
