Josh Hammer: We Should Not Adopt The Foreign Policy Of Barack Obama. Trump foreign policy is about emboldening your friends and you punishing your enemies, not appeasing them like Obama did with the Iran nuclear deal

American conservative political commentator, attorney, and columnist Josh Hammer joined Tony Katz Today to talk about his debate with Dave Smith at the most recent Turning Point event:

Tony Katz:  

I am still a believer that when you take a look at the Turning Point event, I find myself amazed that I’m speaking about so many Turning Point events. I usually just don’t talk about the organization. Charlie Kirk’s doing his thing. Might agree, it might disagree, but what he’s created is, is rather valuable. And yes, he’s been able to turn people out to vote. But whether it was Tucker Carlson at that event or Dave Smith at that event and the cheering that came from the crowd there, there’s a real disconnect, I think between the conservative myself and where the populist is, because I don’t think the populist is necessarily an evil person, that’s kind of nutty, but there are things that the populist allows to be in their world that certainly can’t bring any of us any good. And I think that there was a lot of that that was exposed over the weekend, not only from some of the speakers in their own words, but some of the speakers speaking about the other speakers. Josh Hammer joins me right now. Newsweek senior editor at large and host of the Josh Hammer Show. He is the author of the book Israel and Civilization: The Fate of the Jewish Nation and the Destiny of the West, and we discuss western civilization and how anti-Semitism plays into the destruction of western civilization and Christianity very often. Just had the conversation with author and screenwriter Michael Walsh. But you over that weekend at that event in Tampa, you were the one in the debate, moderated by Charlie Kirk with Dave Smith refers to himself as comic Dave Smith, who never found in Israel he ever liked everything. Israel’s always wrong. Israel’s always leading us into wars. It’s basically all variations of Jews bad, which is not me being hyperbolic, it’s very much how Dave. Smith Talk. So, first things first, Josh, when you went into this conversation, I believe you’ve had other conversations with Smith before. What did you know about Dave Smith and how would you describe his philosophy?
