Notre Dame, Indiana Both Advance in NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

STATEWIDE-Both the Indiana and Notre Dame women’s basketball teams emerged victorious in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament on Friday afternoon to move on to the Round of 32.
Indiana beat Utah 76-68 while Notre Dame routed Stephen F. Austin 106-54. Indiana will face #1 seeded South Carolina Sunday afternoon. Up next for Notre Dame is Michigan.
For Indiana, the victory ensured head coach Teri Moren and the Hoosiers their 10th-consecutive 20-win season. Moren is also 7-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament during her IU career.
Even though they won, Notre Dame lost senior guard Olivia Miles to a knee injury. Notre Dame improves to 27-5 with the win.
Indiana is now 20-12 on the year.
