BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — An EF2 tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service Indianapolis office in Bartholomew County, from Wednesday night.

“They found evidence of an EF2 tornado with peak winds of about 112 mph,” Andrew White, a forecaster at the National Weather Service.

He said the damage path was mostly over rural areas of the county.

“The tornado started just east of I-65 and continued northeast,” he said. “Most of the damage was associated with farmland. There were metal buildings and general outbuildings that were damaged and quite a bit of tree damage as well.”

White said some transmission towers were also bent.

No one was reported hurt.
