INDIANAPOLIS –– A grand jury has indicted Bradley Woods, 40, of Indianapolis, in connection with a fatal crash that killed 20-year-old Avery May on Dec. 23, 2023.
Court documents filed Friday in Marion County Superior Court indicate Woods was intoxicated when the crash occurred near the intersection of Southport Road and Little Oak Lane around 8:55 p.m. May later died from his injuries.
Woods left the scene without providing his name, address, or vehicle registration and failed to assist May or report the crash to 911. Witnesses said Woods was driving recklessly, crossing the center line to pass other vehicles before striking May’s 1996 Honda Accord.
Woods was arrested Saturday at 11 a.m. and faces 21 charges, including failure to remain at the scene of a fatal crash, intoxicated driving resulting in death, reckless homicide, and obstruction of justice. His initial court hearing is set for Tuesday.
Paige Woods, 31, is also charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly removing Bradley Woods’ blood to prevent it from being used as evidence.
Both are scheduled for hearings on Tuesday. Bradley Woods has posted a bond of $80,000 surety and $10,000 cash. Further details on their cases have not been released.
