Injuries at Southport High School Reported in Chemistry Lab

SOUTHPORT, Ind.–Several Southport High School students were injured during a chemistry class on Thursday.
A large glass bottle shattered causing minor injuries to a few students and a teacher.
“All students who sustained injuries were promptly attended to by the school nurses and parents/guardians were contacted. Safety is a top priority in Perry Township Schools. We are reviewing safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future,” said Perry Township Schools Communications Director Elizabeth Choi.
Southport High School is located at 971 E. Banta Road, near Shelby Street on the south side of Indianapolis.
