Man Killed in Shooting Not Far From Indiana State Fairgounds

INDIANAPOLIS–A man was found dead at an apartment complex near the Indiana State Fairgrounds Wednesday night.
That man was identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Patton on Thursday morning by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said they got a call about a burglary at the complex on East 38th Street at around 11:35 pm.
“We’re not quite sure what happened since we don’t have any witnesses. It’s a little unusual that we got the call as a burglary in progress, but there was no forced entry,” said IMPD Captain Don Weilhammer.
Weilhammer said they did find a key and speak to a security guard. They are, however, still searching for suspects.
