Babies Found in Stolen Car

INDIANAPOLIS –A car was stolen with two babies inside of it Monday morning in Indianapolis.

IMPD Officer William Young says it happened on Gimber Street near Keystone Avenue and Troy Avenue at around 11:30 on the south side. The babies were eventually left out in the cold and someone else picked them up and took them inside.

“They were both found safely. It is my understanding that they are a four-month-old and a five-month old. It is great to know that we have community members who step up and do what is right and call us like this person did after they found the two babies,” said Young.

It was after that when Young says they called the police.

They also found the car. Now, they are trying to find their suspect.

“We need to find who is responsible for this. Anybody with information needs to come forward,” said Young.

The vehicle is a silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata.

He says you can do that by calling IMPD or Crimestoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
