FEUD: Two Panelists Get HEATED Discussing Trump Rally – “I Hope Your Beeper Doesn’t Go Off”
We have a good old-fashioned feud on our hands!
All hell broke loose after two CNN panelists went after each other on live tv. Ryan Girdusky was berated after he made a comment implying Mehdi Hasan was a terrorist. The comment was made moments after Hasan called Girdusky a ‘Nazi.’ You may need a moment to take that in…
Girdusky, a conservative commentator and founder for the 1776 Project was discussing Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally with fellow panelists on CNN Monday. He specifically called out the media’s extreme response to Trump’s rally as many labeled the event ‘fascist’ and compared the former president to Hitler.
Mehdi Hasan, a progressive commentor, quickly responded “My problem is, I get it, nobody wants to be called “Nazis.” It’s very inflammatory. If you don’t want to be called “Nazis,” stop.”
Girdusky shot back “You’ve been called an antisemite more than anyone at this table.” Hasan then defensively interjected with, “By people like you … I’m in support of the Palestinians, I’m used to it.”
The heat turned up significantly as Girdusky made a knee-jerk reaction, “Yeah, well, I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.” This was of course, a reference to Israel rigging Hezbollah pagers that killed several people.
As you can imagine, pearls were CLUTCHED…
After a brief commercial break, Phillips made a point to apologize to Hasan on the air. Both Girdusky and Hasan were not at the table when they returned. Phillips said they did not ask Hasan to leave, but did make a point to get rid of Girdusky. She stated, “…We want discussion. We want people who disagree with each other to talk to each other, but when you cross the line of a complete lack of civility, that is not going to happen here on this show.”
Apparently calling one group “Nazis” is civil and just, but a pushback comment isn’t. Hammer points out, “either everybody’s got to be cool with the insults or nobody does it. Equal opportunity. If you’re going to call him a ‘Nazi,’ and he’s going to call you a terrorist – you can’t get butt-hurt either way.”
