Student Did Not Show Off Gun at Avon Intermediate School East

AVON, IND — A student brought a gun to Avon Intermediate School East on Monday. The district first said the student was showing off the gun, but that’s no longer true.

School officials acted quickly with help from Avon School Police, and the student was removed.

“ACSC administrators have thoroughly reviewed footage from the bus the student took to school this morning,” the district said. “There is no evidence that he was showing off the gun to other students on the bus as we originally thought.”

Originally, the district said that a student on the bus saw the gun and told a teacher, who then alerted school administrators to take action.
