U.S. Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) questions Chris Magnus as he appears before a United States Senate Committee on Finance hearing to consider his nomination to be Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection on October 19, 2021 in Washington, DC. The hearing for Magnus’s confirmation comes after it was delayed for several months by Chairman Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), who called on the Department of Homeland Security to release documents related to the involvement of DHS in the street protests in Portland, Oregon. WASHINGTON–With Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressing Congress Wednesday afternoon, Indiana Republican Senator Todd Young decided to pledge his support to Netanyahu and his people.

“They’ve been under fire from Iran, other proxies, and also from anti-Semites from around the world, including this country,” said Young.

While many people in Congress have shown support for Israel in their battle against Hamas, Young argues that the Biden-Harris administration hasn’t done nearly enough.

“This administration has withheld from Congressionally approved aid from the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), they’ve extended Hamas lifelines under the guise of peace plans, they’ve undermined Netanyahu and prioritized placating the radicals and their political base,” said Young.

Young says President Biden has been “too slow” and said “too little” when it comes to the condemnation of “anti-Israel and anti-Semitic mobs on college campuses.”

“And then you have Vice President Harris who I gather hasn’t prioritized a visit from the Prime Minister of Israel in the middle of an existential war. She’s also spoken approvingly of these mobs,” said Young.

Harris has said that she would meet with Netanyahu separately during his visit. That meeting is scheduled to happen on Thursday.
