GREENWOOD, Ind.–When a Hummer H3 slammed on brakes, causing a chain reaction crash that involved two school buses, a family that was riding behind one of the buses had dash cam video recording. Greenwood Police have now released that video in hopes of finding the person who caused the crash and took off.

The wreck happened Sept. 16, around 3 p.m. on U.S. 31 south, between Fry Rd. and West Main St.

The Hummer slams on brakes and is hit from behind by one of the buses, causing the family riding behind that bus to hit its back corner.

If you see the video, you hear the shocked screams from the family as their car comes to rest while the bus skids further down the highway. The Hummer, which police believe is a 2005 to 2010 model, is also hit, but manages to drive away, under the control of someone police want to talk to.

The buses were from the Clark-Pleasant School District and Franklin Community Schools.

Two adults on the Clark-Pleasant bus were hurt.

If you know anything about the Hummer or the driver, you’re asked to call Greenwood Police or Crimestoppers.
