Pure Joy? This Video of a 10-Year-Old Drummer Playing Foo Fighters’ “Everlong”
Nandi Bushell is well on the way to earning a place in music history as one of the greatest drummers of all time. The kicker (rimshot)? She’s only 10-years-old.
Since 2016, Nandi, who calls herself “the British and Zulu drummer girl” has been posting videos of herself drumming to her YouTube channel. Those videos have garnered nearly 12 million views and earned her a fanbase base of over 100K subscribers.
Nandi also plays keyboard and guitar with precision, but it’s her time behind the drumset that’s making her famous. And something tells us her notoriety is about to go next level thanks to a little help from the Foo Fighters.
Nandi says her dream is to “one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, and all the Foo Fighters!” But in a world of drummer hopefuls and wannabees, a girl has to do something to stand out – so Nandi challenged Dave Grohl to a drum-off.
H&N Pro Tip: The video below is the greatest thing you’ll watch in 2020, so don’t skip it.
Nandi included the following message with her video: “Mr. Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!!!”
Conclusion: Nandi is a badass.
The only thing that could possibly make this story about a 10-year-old Mozart of the drums better is if Dave Grohl were to respond.
Fortunately, Grohl DID respond and accepted the challenge.

We’re anxious to see a follow-up, Nandi! And when you’re ready to hit the road with your own band, Jason Hammer plays a killer kazoo.
