Suspect Arrested in Fatal Fort Wayne Hit-And-Run from 4 Years Ago

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident from four years ago on Easter Sunday in Fort Wayne.
Fort Wayne Police said Kierra Chapman, 31, was arrested Friday. She faces charges related to the incident, which resulted in the death of 17-year-old Samayah Barker.
The crash occurred on April 4, 2021, at the intersection of U.S. 27/South Lafayette Street and McKinnie Avenue. Officers found two vehicles involved with one of them unoccupied. Baker was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force injuries.
Police say Chapman could face a mid-level felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing death and three misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily injury. She’s currently being held at the Allen County Jail.
