Thousands Race in 2025 Indy Mini-Marathon

INDIANAPOLIS — Runners from across the country took over downtown Indianapolis on Saturday for the 2025 IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, one of the nation’s largest half marathons.
The 13.1-mile course began and ended in downtown Indianapolis, with a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where many stopped to participate in the tradition of kissing the bricks.
Brandon Olden, of Richmond, Kentucky, won the men’s Mini-Marathon with a time of 1:04:39. Mercy Chelangat, of Flagstaff, Arizona, was the top women’s finisher, crossing the line in 1:10:31.
Holly Koester, of Walton Hills, Ohio, won the Athletes with Disabilities division.
The day began with the Delta Dental 5K, which included elite competition from USA Track & Field. Olin Hacker, of Flagstaff, Arizona, won the men’s USATF race in 13:31.93. Josette Andrews, of Boulder, Colorado, won the women’s USATF race in 15:05.55.
In the non-USATF field, Matt Moler, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, won the men’s 5K in 15:24.86. Lilly Higgins, of Arcadia, Indiana, won the women’s 5K in 18:26.45.
