Men Steal Over 500 Eggs From Seattle Cafe
Who knew the black market was in need of groceries?
Seattle police are scrambling to find a couple of thieves who stole over 500 eggs from a local cafe.
Two men were seen sneaking into a West Seattle cafe’s refrigerated shed at around 4am last week. The guys must’ve been working on their protein gains because they took bacon, ground beef, blueberries, liquid egg products, and approximately 540 eggs. Investigators say the products stolen totaled around $780, the eggs alone valued near $400.
An official pointed out in an interview that the men skipped past champagne and other more expensive items in the refrigerator and opt for the hundreds of eggs instead.
Egg prices have increased by about 36% in the past year. The CPI say the significant jump is mostly due to a widespread outbreak of bird flu, which has significantly affected egg production.
We feel like it may have been easier to lift the alcohol then delicately package away hundreds of eggs, but what do we know, we’re just a couple of eggheads.
