Wildcats Take Down Hoosiers in Evanston 79-70

EVANSTON, IL.–The Northwestern Wildcats were fueled by 54 points in the second half to knock off the Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball team Wednesday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois 79-70.
The Wildcats knocked down 13 of 27 three-point shots, including making 9 of 14 in the second half. Ty Berry hit 7 of those threes and led all scorers with 23 points for Northwestern. The Wildcats would go on to outscore Indiana 54-39 in the second half. Three other Northwestern Wildcats finished in double figures.
In a period of more than 6 minutes in the second half, Northwestern outscored Indiana 21-4 after the Hoosiers pushed the lead to 36-29. That seven-point advantage was Indiana’s largest of the game before Northwestern took over.
After Indiana led 52-49, Northwestern went on a 13-0 run that Indiana could not recover from.
Indiana was led in scoring by Mackenzie Mgbako with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Oumar Ballo had 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Also for Indiana, Luke Goode finished with 14 points while making four of his five three-point shots. Myles Rice scored 11 points.
Indiana drops to 14-6 on the year and 5-4 in the Big Ten. Northwestern is now 12-7 overall and 3-5 in the Big Ten.
