INDIANAPOLIS — A man was arrested Monday after he shot two people near Indy’s southwest side.
The two people, who were shot, rented a building as a music studio. As they were leaving, that’s when 20-year-old, Jason Powell, opened fire.
Police say they don’t know why Powell opened fire, but they found surveillance video of him. He was wearing a hood and a mask, driving his car up to the suspects and shooting them both. One of the victims was identified as 23-year-old, Shannon Ramone Campbell Jr., and the other victim’s name hasn’t been said.
Police arrived on Howard Street, where both people were shot. Campbell died at the scene, and the other person was taken to the hospital, where they are in bad shape.
Officers later found Powell on Ludwig Street. He was arrested and is now charged with murder.
This is the first time someone’s been arrested for murder in Indianapolis this year.
